Urban Plein Air Wrap Up
On September 13th, 14th and 15th, 25 local artists set out on the streets of downtown Salt Lake City to capture the people and places of our cultural core through plein air painting (painting outdoors). Collectively, they completed 50 works that feature 10 iconic venues and locations in THE BLOCKS, Salt Lake’s Cultural Core.
The Urban Plein Air Project culminated in a exhibition at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art which opened during Gallery Stroll on September 21st. The exhibit was up for an additional week and came down on September 29th.
Couldn’t make it to UMOCA for the show? Check out some results of the project below!
All works are for sale and proceeds will contribute to a cause! Artists have donated 15% of their sales to the Art Therapy for Homeless Adults, an Art Access program.
