Dance for Life Suicide Awareness Weekend 2022

Dance for Life Suicide Prevention & Good Mental Health nonprofit announces its annual Suicide Awareness Weekend on World Suicide Prevention Day September 9th & 10th 2022.

Schedule of Events:

Saturday, September 10th at the Capitol Theatre
Master Ballet Classes with Katherine Barkman of the Washington Ballet including scholarship opportunity and meet & greet
Level I Beginning 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Level II Intermediate 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Wellness Workshop with nationally-acclaimed Kirsten Kemp professional ballerina & dance mental health advocate 11:30 – 12:30 p.m.
Master Ballet Classes with Katherine Barkmans of the Washington Ballet including scholarship opportunity and meet & greet
Level III Advanced Technique Pointe & Variations 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Stomp Out Stigma (SOS) Wellness Forum with internationally-acclaimed Bob Kittell 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Performance 7:00 p.m. with top dance and ballet talent in Utah including Mariah Russell & Katherine Barkman, Odyssey Dance Theatre, BYU Ballroom & more! Ten percent of all ticket sales sold by your ballet company will be returned to you for scholarships and support with our thanks!
We have two locations for this event in 2022. Drill teams will be at a separate location which better suits their performance style – a high school in Canyons School District in Salt Lake in the main gym (to be announced)!

We are also rolling out the red carpet for our new met-style Hope Gala Ball Fundraiser Friday, September 9th with dignitaries, donors, philanthropists, state leaders and those passionate about this cause at the Utah State Capitol Rotunda featuring fashion designers, paparazzi media coverage, incredible dinner, speakers, performance by award-winning ballroom dancers and dancing to a live band!
