Hispanic Heritage Parade & Street Festival

Hispanic Heritage Parade & Street Festival

Presented by Take Care Utah at The Gateway

The annual Hispanic Heritage Parade is a celebration hosted by Take Care Utah to build relationships with Hispanic Utahns and highlight the importance of health care coverage. From a parade in the morning to a street festival in the afternoon, people will be able to enjoy dancing, live music, food, drinks, and more from various Hispanic cultures at the Gateway in Salt Lake City! This event takes place in September which has been deemed Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States. As it turns out, Utah has one of the highest rates of uninsured Hispanic children in the country making this event that much more important to raise awareness of the matter. At this event people will find a multitude of community resources at booths placed throughout the venue, giving people the opportunity to connect with their community and what it has to offer. Features of these booths include up-to-spot services, screenings, and referrals for vital resources. Take Care Utah is a program made by Utah Health Policy Project, a non-profit that assists underserved Utahns in signing up for affordable healthcare. Our goal for this event is to raise awareness for the discrepancy of uninsured Hispanic children and bring in the Hispanic community of Utah to celebrate culture while also providing health access resources!
