Then, step further back into the boisterous world of the Edwardian era with Elgar’s Cockaigne (a British term illustrating the humor, honesty, and strength of turn-of-the-century London). The final destination in this program led by Sir Donald Runnicles is Vaughan Williams’ Fifth Symphony, dubbed “Symphony of the Celestial City” for its essence of radiant light and sublime mystery.
