Craft Lake City Workshop: Haku Lei Making

Craft Lake City Workshop: Haku Lei Making

Presented by Craft Lake City at Craft Lake City

The art of lei making welcomes all with this traditional method used in the South Pacific Polynesian Islands as a traditional piece to celebrate & honor loved ones. This workshop is a part of our New Americans series instructed by local Utah artisan Kamie Afo-Aiono. In this class, Kamie will guide attendees through the process of crafting & braiding a stunning lei alongside the connection between this craft and her culture. Attendees will leave with a gorgeous fresh floral crown!

As part of this six-part series, Craft Lake City is offering three full scholarships to each New American workshop based on financial need. To apply for a scholarship to this workshop, click here.

Beginners are welcome and all supplies are provided.

About the Instructor:

Talofa! And Aloooooha! My name is Kamie Afo-Aiono & I am so excited to teach the beautiful craft of my Polynesian ancestors of haku lei po’o making. I am a local Utah florist who specializes in tropical florals, leis & workshops. I love being able to create for funerals, weddings and all events. Sharing Aloha & a touch of Paradise is amazing!
